David A. Morman

David A. Morman is a senior official in the Employment and Training Administration of the U.S. Department of Labor with over 25 years of management experience. Until recently, he was the Director of Policy, Planning, and Operations for the United States Employment Service (USES). Currently, he is serving is Director of Research and Development for the Office of Technology. He is also the project lead for the America's Learning eXchange (ALX) initiative.

Before joining ETA in 1993, Mr. Morman held a number of senior management positions within the Department of Labor, among which include serving as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Veteran's Employment and Training Service (1989-1991), the OASAM Regional Administrator for Atlanta (1987), and the Director of the Office of Information Resources Management (IRM) Policy at the Department level (1984-1986). In regard to the latter job, he received the 1986 Award for Management Excellence from the Interagency Committee on IRM. During 1992, Mr. Morman worked in the private sector for CertainTeed Corporation as part of the Presidential Executive Exchange Program.

Mr Morman holds an M.P.A. in Management from George Washington University and an M.A. in English from the University of Texas. He is a graduate of the University of Texas system, where he also taught for two years, with a B.A. in Philosophy. A former United States Marine who was wounded in Vietnam, Mr Morman is a member of Big Brothers of the National Capital Area, the Vietnam Veterans of America, and the American Society for Public Administration. He is happily married and has one daughter.
