Acting Supervisory EconomistRobert Sienkiewicz currently serves as Acting Supervisory Economist in ATP's Economic Assessment Office and is responsible for managing its Economic Analysis and Survey Team. Prior to this, Robert served as a Senior Advisor to the Director of the Advanced Technology Program. Robert joined EAO in May 1999 as an Economist and was responsible for short-term project evaluation, project management, as well as the design and development of the ATP economics research center. His current research interests include R&D efficiency, joint ventures and strategic alliances, venture capital, and displacement. Robert began his Federal career in 1991 in the Policy Office of the U.S. Maritime Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation. During his tenure with DOT, Robert developed an expertise in the economic consequences of various subsidy mechanisms and participated in a variety of Federal initiatives, including the 1993 National Performance Review. Before joining the Federal service, Robert was the financial manager of the Pakistan Project at the Academy for Educational Development. While employed, Robert concurrently completed his M.A.(1989) and Ph.D. (1997) degrees at the Catholic University of America. He received his B.A. degree in 1986 from the University of Notre Dame. Robert belongs to the American Economics Association, the Southern Economics Association, and the Western Economics Association.
