Welcome to our November 13-14, 2000, Regional Meeting

About Our First Regional Meeting . . .

The Advanced Technology Program's (ATP) first regional meeting will be of interest to (1) high-tech companies seeking funds for high-risk research, (2) companies looking for research partners, (3) Universities seeking research partners, (4) technology councils and associations, and (5) State Economic Development Offices.

This event will provide opportunities to network and meet one-on-one with ATP STAFF. There will also be opportunities to network with other research companies and representatives from universities.

On the afternoon of the first day of this two-day conference, ATP will conduct a Proposers' Conference detailing the proposal submission process. Following this session, attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with ATP staff.

The second day's session will include:
  • Funding for R&D in other "grant" Federal agencies. In this session, representatives from DoD, DoE, NIH, and NSF will discuss various funding opportunities, and the SBIR/STTR programs.
  • State Economic Development Offices and Universities will participate in discussions about new opportunities with ATP.
  • ATP awardees will review their experience in obtaining awards. This session will include an "open microphone" session to allow attendees to actively participate in discussions.
  • Biotechnology and Nanotechnology will be discussed as hot research issues in separate concurrent sessions.
  • Venture Capitalists will discuss their funding selection process.
  • "One-On-One" sessions with ATP's Program Mangers will be available throughout the day to discuss ATP and its proposal submission process. There will also be opportunities to network with research companies, universities, and State representatives.
