JOINT VENTURE WORKSHOP COVER LETTER
May 22, 1996
Dear ATP Joint Venture
Participant:
On May 22, 1996,
the Advanced Technology Program (ATP) held a joint venture workshop. The
purpose of the workshop was to better understand the factors that make
for successful ATP joint ventures. We prepared a summary of the key information
presented at this workshop, and are sending this material not only to
those who attended, but also to all ATP joint venture participants.
Included in this
transmittal are:
- Copies of viewgraphs
from those who made presentations in the first session in the morning
(Enclosure 1).
[Note: electronic version of Enclosure 1 is not available on the
Web.]
- A list of attendees
(Enclosure 2).
- A document summarizing
the advice given by the attendees to ATP, and also a summary of suggestions
made by the participants regarding factors that increase the probability
of joint venture success (Enclosure 3).
We are continuing to
study this material and thinking about how we can improve the ATP for joint
ventures. If you have additional thoughts on this topic, write, phone, or
email them to me. My phone is (301) 975-5187.
Let me remind you
also that ATP is holding a general competition this summer. By now your
company or institution should have received an announcement by mail. We
look forward to receiving your innovative proposals on or before September
18, 1996.
Sincerely,
Lura Powell
