Michael J. Tierney

Michael J. Tierney is a Senior Staff Scientist at Cygnus, Inc in Redwood City, CA. His work at Cygnus has focussed on the development of an amperometric biosensor for the GlucoWatch monitor. Prior to joining Cygnus five years ago, he developed micromachined gas sensors at Teknekron Sensor Development Corp. Dr. Tierney received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1988. He is the author of over twenty papers and five issued patents in various areas of chemical and biosensor technology.
