Amer Hassan, Ph.D.

Amer Hassan received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in December 1998. Since then he worked for GE R&D in Schenectady, NY, and Ericsson in RTP, NC, where most of his work focused on wireless communications. In particular, he worked on mobile satellite systems and satellite broadband systems. He has been with Teledesic in Kirkland, WA, for three years as a Director of Business Development and Technical Director for User Terminal, where he focuses on wireless trunking (3G, WLL, LMDS) and ground infrastructure definition. Dr. Hassan was also an Adjunct Professor at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, and the Ericsson representative on the Industrial Advisory Board Center for Advanced Computing and Communications (CACC), North Carolina State University and Duke University.

His interests are in the areas of Radio Communications: Satellite and Cellular, Error Control Coding and Digital Communications.
