Alan Weber

Alan Weber is the Vice President of the Fab Solutions Division at ObjectSpace, Inc. He is responsible for the manufacturing industries aspect of the company's product and consulting businesses with semiconductor manufacturing as the initial target. Alan joined ObjectSpace in January 1997, coming with considerable background in the global semiconductor industry. The first seven years of his career were spent at Texas Instruments in the areas of semiconductor design automation, followed by seven years in the industrial process control products and manufacturing systems, including a 4-year tour of duty in Europe. More recently, he worked eight years at SEMATECH, leading research and development for factory and equipment control systems architectures and standards, including the creation and evolution of the SEMATECH CIM Framework. His current responsibilities include defining and executing the division's overall market strategy and business plan; identifying key accounts and specific opportunities; designing and staffing the Austin organization to address these opportunities; overseeing major customer project activities; and continuing to leverage his network of contacts in private industry, government, university, and international standards communities to further the application of advanced systems technologies to manufacturing challenges. An acknowledged industry thought leader, Alan regularly contributes articles and editorial commentary to various industry publications and is much in demand for his expertise as well as his presentation and group facilitation skills. Alan holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Rice University.
